Product Design
This table lamp was designed for use at a personal workstation. As a designer, I sometimes find myself working late into the night. To lessen the blue hue given off by LEDs which often causes me headaches, the lamp introduces a transparent orange screen to mitigate this.

Vacuum-formed oak bent laminate, acrylic

Prototyping:
Early prototypes were about sizing and positioning as well as determining light spray. Initially, this lamp was proposed as standing in multiple positions, on its side as well as on its “feet.” Later, to maximize stability, focus was shifted to recessing the light and keeping it away from users’ eyes.

Making:

Strips of laminate were cut on the bandsaw then glued in layers and vacuum-formed over a hand-made jig.
