I used chisels to create the sharp angles of this traditional Japanese Asa-No-Ha or hemp leaf kumiko pattern set in a shoji frame. The panel was backlit with diffused color LEDs to experiment with effects on visibility and mood.

 Kipper Thomas Reinsmith designs objects that celebrate unique ways of being in the world.
